Why would a 2001 Suzuki window only go down about an inch and give you shock when try to roll it down?

Here are a few possible explanations

- Faulty Switch

The first thing you should check is the window switch. If it's not working properly, it won't be able to send power to the window motor, which would prevent the window from rolling down. Try checking the switch by pressing it up and down and seeing if the window moves at all. If it does, then the switch is likely working fine and the problem lies elsewhere.

- Clogged Window Track:

If the window track is clogged with debris or dirt, it can prevent the window from moving smoothly and cause it to give you a shock when you try to roll it down. Try cleaning out the track with a vacuum or some compressed air and see if that solves the problem.

- Malfunctioning Window Regulator:

The window regulator is a mechanical assembly that moves the window up and down when you turn the switch. If the regulator is damaged or not working properly, it can cause the window to move slowly or jerkily, or even stop moving altogether. Try testing the regulator by manually moving the window up and down. If it feels difficult to move, or if it makes any strange noises, then the regulator may need to be replaced.

- Faulty Window Motor:

The window motor is responsible for providing the power to move the window up and down. If the motor is not working properly, it won't be able to provide enough power and the window will move slowly or not at all. Try testing the motor by connecting it directly to a power source and see if it works. If not, then the motor will need to be replaced

If you're not comfortable performing any of these checks or repairs yourself, it's best to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic to have them diagnosed and repaired correctly.
