- Remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant
- Remove the engine oil filter
- Remove the serpentine belt
- Remove the water pump pulley retaining nut
- Use a press or puller to remove the water pump pulley from the shaft
- Remove the 4 water pump bolts
- Remove the old water pump
- Use a gasket scraper to remove the old gasket
- Apply a new gasket to the new water pump
- Install the new water pump
- Reverse the order listed above to finish water pump replacement.
To locate the water pump on your 1994 Dodge Shadow 3.0L, follow these steps:
1. Open the hood of your vehicle and remove the engine cover.
2. Locate the timing belt cover. It is a black plastic cover located at the front of the engine.
3. The water pump is located behind the timing belt cover. It is a round metal object with a pulley attached to it.
