Note: This repair is complex and requires advanced welding skills. If you are not comfortable welding, you should take your vehicle to a professional body shop.
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the vehicle.
. Safety: Wear safety glasses and gloves to protect yourself from flying debris and sharp metal edges.
. Raise the vehicle with a jack and place it on jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is stable before you begin working.
Step 2: Remove the front bumper.
. Unbolt the front bumper from the vehicle. There may be several bolts on the top, bottom, and sides of the bumper.
. Once all of the bolts are removed, carefully remove the bumper from the vehicle.
Step 3: Remove the radiator and hood latch.
. Unbolt the radiator from the frame. There may be several bolts on the top, bottom, and sides of the radiator.
. Once all of the bolts are removed, carefully remove the radiator from the vehicle.
. Unbolt the hood latch from the frame. There may be several bolts holding the hood latch in place.
. Once all of the bolts are removed, carefully remove the hood latch from the vehicle.
Step 4: Prepare the frame for welding.
. Use a pry bar and chisel to remove the spot welds that hold the front frame portion in place.
. Once all of the spot welds are removed, carefully remove the front frame portion from the vehicle.
. Clean the frame area where the new front frame portion will be welded.
Step 5: Weld the new front frame portion in place.
. Position the new front frame portion in place on the vehicle.
. Clamp the new front frame portion in place.
. Weld the new front frame portion to the vehicle.
Step 6: Reinstall the radiator and hood latch.
. Install the radiator and hood latch in the reverse order that you removed them.
Step 7: Reinstall the front bumper.
. Install the front bumper in the reverse order that you removed it.
Step 8: Lower the vehicle.
Carefully lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
