How do you change the air filter on a 1992 Mazda Protege LX?

1. Open the hood of your car.

2. Locate the air filter housing. It is a black plastic box located on the driver's side of the engine bay, near the top.

3. Unlatch the air filter housing cover. There are two clips on the cover. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry them open.

4. Remove the air filter. It is a rectangular piece of foam or paper.

5. Inspect the air filter for dirt, debris, or damage. If the air filter is dirty, replace it with a new one.

6. Reinstall the air filter. Make sure that it is seated properly in the housing.

7. Close the air filter housing cover. Snap the clips into place.

8. Close the hood of your car.
