How do you disassemble a drive chain on 1996 Chevy 4x4 truck?

To disassemble the drive chain on a 1996 Chevy 4x4 truck, follow these steps:

Park the truck on a flat surface and apply the parking brake.

Locate the drive chain under the truck, running between the transmission and the rear differential.

Raise the rear of the truck using a jack and jack stands. Ensure that the truck is securely supported before going underneath it.

Locate the master link of the drive chain. This is a special link with a clip or bolt that allows you to disconnect the chain. It will likely be near the bottom of the truck, close to the rear differential.

If the master link has a clip, use a flat-head screwdriver or snap ring pliers to remove the clip. If it has a bolt, use a wrench to loosen and remove the bolt.

Pull the drive chain apart at the master link.

Lower the rear of the truck and remove the jack stands.
