Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the door panel in place. There should be three screws along the top of the door panel, one in the middle of the door panel, and one near the bottom of the door panel.
Step 2: Pry off the door panel.
Once the screws are removed, you can pry off the door panel by inserting a flat-head screwdriver into the seam between the door panel and the door frame. Start at the top of the door panel and work your way down. Be careful not to pry too hard, as you may damage the door panel or the door frame.
Step 3: Disconnect the power window motor.
If your Honda Prelude has power windows, you will need to disconnect the power window motor before you can remove the door panel completely. To do this, locate the power window motor on the inside of the door. There should be a connector that plugs into the motor. Disconnect the connector by pushing down on the release tab and pulling the connector straight off of the motor.
Step 4: Remove the door panel.
Once the power window motor is disconnected, you can remove the door panel completely. Simply lift the door panel up and off of the door frame.
Step 5: Reinstall the door panel.
To reinstall the door panel, simply reverse the steps you took to remove it. Be sure to connect the power window motor before you reinstall the door panel screws.
