1. Park the vehicle in a safe and level location, turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap to relieve any pressure in the fuel tank.
3. Use a jack and jack stands to raise the rear of the vehicle.
4. Remove the spare tire (if applicable) from beneath the vehicle.
5. Locate the fuel tank access cover on the underside of the vehicle, usually near the rear of the tank.
6. Remove the fuel tank access cover by unscrewing the bolts or screws holding it in place.
7. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump by pressing down on the quick-connect fittings and pulling the lines off the pump.
8. Remove the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
9. Unscrew the lock ring that holds the fuel pump in place.
10. Gently pull the fuel pump out of the fuel tank.
