NOTE: Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting.
1. Raise the car with the jack and jack stands and secure properly.
2. Remove the front wheels.
3. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery terminals.
4. Remove the air filter box and intake hose.
5. Disconnect the fuel line and fuel return line from the fuel rail.
6. Disconnect the power steering lines from the power steering pump.
7. Disconnect the throttle cable and cruise control cable from the throttle body.
8. Disconnect the radiator hoses and heater hoses from the engine block.
9. Disconnect the AC compressor and alternator from the engine block.
10. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
11. Remove the engine mount bolts and nuts.
12. Attach the engine hoist to the lift points on the cylinder head.
13. Start lifting the engine out of the car, ensuring that all the wires and hoses are clear.
14. Once the engine is out of the car, you can remove the engine hoist.
RE-INSTALLATION:
Reinstall the engine in reverse order of removal, making sure to follow the torque specifications for the engine mount bolts and nuts.
