How do you remove the thermostat on a 98 Isuzu trooper?

To remove the thermostat on a 98 Isuzu trooper, you will need:

-10mm Socket

Steps:

1. Open your hood or engine cover

2. Remove the upper radiator hose, the top most radiator hose connecting to you engine.

3. Use 10mm socket. There are 2 bolts holding your thermostat housing

4. Lift thermostat and its gasket out then clean the sealing surface as necessary. Ensure gasket and sealing areas remain free from grease so new gasket seals properly.. 

5. Using new gasket ,place it correctly on thermostat.  Be careful not to pinch  gasket as you re-install thermostat onto vehicle to avoid leaks.  You might want to lightly dab sealant to old one during reinstall to avoid gasket slippage . Make sure thermostat spring faces engine.  Tighten bolts to specified tightness to avoid cracking  housing
