1. Park your Subaru Forester on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake to ensure that the vehicle doesn’t move.
2. Open the hood of your Forester. You can do this by pulling the hood release lever inside the car, near the driver's seat.
3. Locate the headlight assembly that needs the bulb replaced. Each headlight is located behind the plastic cover on either side of the vehicle’s front end.
4. Remove the plastic cover by releasing the clips holding it in place. Be careful not to damage the clips or the cover.
5. Inside the headlight assembly, you’ll see the back of the headlight bulb. Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the headlight housing.
6. Remove the old bulb from its socket and insert the new bulb. When installing the new bulb, make sure to handle it by its base and not the glass part to avoid leaving any fingerprints or oils that could impair the bulb's performance or longevity.
7. Turn the new bulb clockwise to hold it securely in place.
8. Replace the plastic cover and close the hood of your Subaru Forester.
Once you have completed these steps, your Subaru Forester will have a new headlight bulb, and you will be able to drive safely at night again!
