When you try to start your 94 Honda Accord cant hear the fuel pump and it wont sometimes starts?

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Check the fuel pump relay:

The fuel pump relay is responsible for supplying power to the fuel pump. If the relay is faulty, the fuel pump will not receive power and will not be able to run. To check the fuel pump relay, locate it in the fuse box (usually under the hood or inside the car) and swap it with a known-good relay. If the car starts with the new relay, the old relay is faulty and needs to be replaced.

2. Check for a clogged fuel filter:

A clogged fuel filter can restrict the flow of fuel to the engine, causing the car to stall or have difficulty starting. To check the fuel filter, locate it in the fuel line (usually near the fuel tank) and inspect it for dirt or debris. If the filter is clogged, replace it with a new one.

3. Check the fuel pressure:

Low fuel pressure can cause the car to stall or have difficulty starting. To check the fuel pressure, connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and turn on the ignition. The fuel pressure should be within the range specified in your owner's manual. If the fuel pressure is too low, the fuel pump may be faulty and needs to be replaced.

4. Inspect the fuel lines:

Check for any cracks or leaks in the fuel lines, especially around the fuel pump and fuel filter. If you find any leaks, they need to be repaired or the fuel lines replaced.

5. Check the ignition switch:

If the ignition switch is faulty, it may not send a signal to the fuel pump to turn on. You can turn the key to the "on" position and check if the instrument cluster lights are working. If they are not, the ignition switch or wiring may be faulty.

6. Check the Engine Control Module (ECM)

The ECM controls various functions of the engine, including the fuel system. If the ECM itself is malfunctioning, it may not be sending the correct signals to the fuel pump or other engine components. You can have the ECM diagnosed at an auto repair shop or by a qualified mechanic to identify any issues.

If you have tried all of these steps and the car still won't start, it is recommended that you take it to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
