1. Remove the coolant reservoir cap.
2. Place a drain pan under the radiator and disconnect the radiator cap.
3. Drain enough coolant from the radiator to provide access to the thermostat housing.
4. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
5. Remove the two bolts that secure the thermostat housing to the engine block.
6. Remove the thermostat housing and gasket.
7. Inspect the thermostat for damage or defects. Replace the thermostat if necessary.
8. Install a new gasket and reinstall the thermostat housing.
9. Tighten the two bolts that secure the thermostat housing to the engine block.
10. Reconnect the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
11. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
12. Replace the coolant reservoir cap.
3.0L Engine
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the air filter box and duct.
3. Disconnect the hose from the air intake boot to the throttle body.
4. Remove the three bolts that secure the air intake boot to the throttle body.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle position sensor.
6. Remove the two bolts that secure the throttle body to the upper intake manifold.
7. Lift the throttle body off the upper intake manifold.
8. Remove the gasket from the throttle body.
9. Clean the gasket surfaces of the throttle body and upper intake manifold.
10. Install a new gasket on the throttle body.
11. Reinstall the throttle body and tighten the two bolts.
12. Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle position sensor.
13. Connect the hose from the air intake boot to the throttle body.
14. Install the three bolts that secure the air intake boot to the throttle body.
15. Install the air filter box and duct.
16. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
