How do you timing Isuzu engine 4Hf1?

To time an Isuzu engine 4Hf1, follow these steps:

1. Remove the valve cover.

2. Turn the crankshaft pulley until the timing mark on the pulley is aligned with the "0" mark on the timing cover.

3. Check that the piston in the number one cylinder is at the top of its compression stroke. This can be done by inserting a straw or other long, thin object into the cylinder through the spark plug hole and noting when it reaches its highest point.

4. If the piston is not at the top of its compression stroke, turn the crankshaft pulley one full revolution (360 degrees) and check again.

5. Once the piston is at the top of its compression stroke, align the timing mark on the camshaft gear with the "0" mark on the cylinder head.

6. Install the timing belt, making sure that it is tight and properly tensioned.

7. Install the valve cover.

If you are unsure about any of these steps, it is best to consult a qualified mechanic.
