NOTE: Make sure all doors and the hood are closed.
1. Enter your vehicle and close the driver's door.
2. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the "ON" position (without starting the engine).
3. Within 10 seconds of turning the key on, press and hold the "LOCK" button on the driver's door for at least 2 seconds. The horn will chirp once to indicate that the system is in programming mode.
4. Within 5 seconds of hearing the horn chirp, press and release the "UNLOCK" button on the remote transmitter you want to program. The horn will chirp twice to confirm that the transmitter has been successfully programmed.
NOTE: You can program up to four remote transmitters to your Subaru Forester's alarm system.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any additional remote transmitters you want to program.
6. After you have programmed all of the transmitters, wait 10 seconds. The security indicator light on the instrument cluster will turn off. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition.
Your Subaru Forester alarm remote transmitter is now programmed and ready to use.
