Step 1: Locate the tail light assembly.
- Open the trunk of your MDX.
- Locate the tail light assembly on the side that needs to be changed.
- It is the red or clear plastic cover that houses the tail lights.
Step 2: Remove the screws holding the tail light assembly.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the tail light assembly in place.
- The screws are located on the inside of the trunk, near the tail light assembly.
Step 3: Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Once the screws are removed, locate the electrical connector that is connected to the tail light assembly.
- Press the release tab on the connector and pull it apart to disconnect it.
Step 4: Remove the tail light assembly.
- Once the electrical connector is disconnected, you can remove the tail light assembly by pulling it straight out from the vehicle.
Step 5: Install the new tail light assembly.
- Position the new tail light assembly in place and make sure it is aligned correctly.
- Insert the two screws and tighten them to hold the tail light assembly in place.
- Reconnect the electrical connector.
Step 6: Test the tail light assembly.
- Close the trunk and turn on the headlights.
- Check to make sure that the tail lights are working properly.
