How do you compress caliper piston on 2003 Kia Sorento front brake?

To compress the caliper piston on a 2003 Kia Sorento front brake, you will need the following tools:

- A C-clamp

- A pair of pliers

- A flathead screwdriver

- A brake fluid reservoir cap wrench

- A funnel

- DOT 3 brake fluid

Instructions:

1. Park the Sorento on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Chock the rear wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

3. Open the hood and remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.

4. Use the funnel to add enough brake fluid to the reservoir to bring the level up to the "FULL" mark.

5. Locate the caliper on the front wheel that you are working on.

6. Use the C-clamp to compress the caliper piston. Be sure to compress the piston slowly and evenly to avoid damaging the caliper.

7. Once the piston is fully compressed, use the pliers to hold the piston in place.

8. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry the dust boot off of the caliper.

9. Inspect the caliper for any damage. If you find any damage, you will need to replace the caliper.

10. Clean the caliper and the dust boot with a brake cleaner.

11. Apply a thin coat of brake grease to the piston and the dust boot.

12. Reinstall the dust boot and the brake fluid reservoir cap.

13. Test the brakes to make sure that they are working properly.

Note: If you do not feel comfortable performing this procedure yourself, you can take your Sorento to a qualified mechanic to have the brakes serviced.
