- Oil filter gasket: The oil filter gasket is a small rubber ring that seals the oil filter in place. Over time, this gasket can become worn out or damaged, which can cause it to leak oil.
- Oil drain plug: The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan and seals the hole that allows oil to drain out during an oil change. If the drain plug is not tightened properly, it can leak oil.
- Valve cover gasket: The valve cover gasket seals the top of the engine, where the valvetrain is located. This gasket can become brittle or cracked over time, which can cause it to leak oil.
- Rear main oil seal: The rear main oil seal is located at the back of the engine, where the crankshaft meets the transmission. This seal prevents oil from leaking out of the engine where the crankshaft exits the engine block.
- Oil pan gasket: The oil pan gasket seals the bottom of the oil pan to the engine block. This gasket can become brittle or cracked over time, which can cause it to leak oil.
- Timing chain cover gasket: The timing chain cover gasket seals the front of the engine where the timing chain is located. This gasket can also leak oil.
