How do you remove a Mazda miata gas tank?

To remove a Mazda Miata gas tank, you will need the following tools:

* A jack and jack stands

* A lug wrench

* A socket wrench set

* A flat head screwdriver

* A Phillips head screwdriver

* A fuel line disconnect tool

1. Park your Miata on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Jack up the rear of your Miata and place jack stands under the frame.

3. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.

5. Locate the fuel line disconnect tool. It is usually a small, plastic tool with a flat head screwdriver on one end and a Phillips head screwdriver on the other end.

6. Use the flat head screwdriver end of the tool to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel tank.

7. Use the Phillips head screwdriver end of the tool to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter.

8. Locate the two bolts that hold the fuel tank in place. They are located on the bottom of the fuel tank, near the front.

9. Remove the two bolts using a socket wrench.

10. Carefully lower the fuel tank out of the car.

11. Inspect the fuel tank for any damage. If there is damage the fuel tank will have to be replaced.

12. If there is no damage, reinstall the fuel tank.

13. Reattach the fuel line to the fuel tank and fuel filter.

14. Tighten the two bolts that hold the fuel tank in place.

15. Replace the wheels and lug nuts.

16. Lower the Miata off the jack stands.

Your Mazda Miata gas tank is now removed.
