1. Disconnect the battery. This will help to prevent electrical shocks and damage to the ignition system.
2. Remove the steering wheel. This will give you access to the ignition barrel.
3. Remove the ignition switch cover. This is a plastic cover that surrounds the ignition switch. To remove it, use a screwdriver to pry it off.
4. Remove the ignition switch lock nut. This is a nut that holds the ignition switch in place. To remove it, use a wrench.
5. Pull out the ignition switch. Once the lock nut is removed, you can pull out the ignition switch. Be careful not to damage the wires that are attached to it.
6. Disconnect the wires from the ignition switch. There are two wires that are attached to the ignition switch. To disconnect them, simply press the release tabs and pull them off.
7. Remove the ignition barrel. Once the wires are disconnected, you can remove the ignition barrel.
To install a new ignition barrel, simply reverse the steps listed above.
