2. Remove the upper radiator hose. This is usually done by loosening the hose clamp and pulling the hose off of the thermostat housing.
3. Remove the thermostat. You may need a wrench or socket to remove the bolts holding the thermostat in place.
4. Inspect the thermostat. If it is damaged or worn out, it will need to be replaced.
5. Reinstall the thermostat. Take care to ensure the gasket is properly seated.
6. Reinstall the upper radiator hose.
7. Add coolant to the radiator.
8. Start the engine and allow it to warm up.
9. Check for leaks.
