2. Locate the timing marks on the engine and distributor, which is the crankshaft pulley and distributor housing, respectively.
3. Align the timing marks by turning the crankshaft pulley until the "0" mark aligns with the pointer on the distributor housing.
4. Install the rotor button and distributor cap.
5. Start the engine and check the timing with a timing light. If the engine starts but the timing is off, loosen the distributor hold-down bolt, turn the distributor in or out until the timing is correct, and then tighten the bolt.
