How do you replace the camshaft sensor on a 1996 Suzuki Sidekick Sport?

Parts Required:

- Camshaft Sensor

- 5/16" inch socket

- 10 mm socket

- Wire strippers

- Solder

Procedure:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Locate the camshaft sensor on the front of the engine, just below the intake manifold. It is a black, cylindrical sensor with a single electrical connector.

3. Use a 10 mm socket to remove the two bolts holding the camshaft sensor in place.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft sensor.

5. Remove the camshaft sensor from the engine.

6. Use a 5/16" inch socket to remove the old camshaft sensor from the intake manifold if applicable.

7. Apply a small amount of sealant to the threads of the new camshaft sensor.

8. Screw the new camshaft sensor into the intake manifold. If not applicable, screw the sensor directly into the block.

9. Hand tighten. Re-tighten using the 5/16" socket.

10. Reattach the electrical connector.

11. Reinstall the two bolts holding the camshaft sensor in place.

12. Tighten the bolts until snug.

13. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

13. Start the engine.
