Before you begin, make sure that the vehicle is turned off, and if possible, allow some time for the tail light bulb to cool down. Additionally, it is recommended that you wear gloves to prevent dirt or oil from transferring onto the light bulb.
1. Open the trunk of your Miata.
2. Locate the tail light assembly that houses the faulty bulb. It is typically located on the outer edge of the trunk lid.
3. Remove the two screws that secure the tail light assembly in place.
4. Once the screws are removed, carefully remove the tail light assembly from the vehicle.
5. Locate the faulty tail light bulb. It is usually a small, round, and orange-colored bulb.
6. To remove the faulty bulb, gently twist it counterclockwise until it is completely removed from the socket.
7. Take the new tail light bulb and insert it into the socket. Make sure to turn it clockwise until it is completely secure.
8. Reattach the tail light assembly to the vehicle by inserting the two screws and tightening them securely.
9. Test the new tail light bulb by turning on the headlights.
10. Close the trunk of your Miata.
