1. Remove accessory belt.
2. Remove the water pump pulley.
3. Drain the coolant.
4. Unbolt the water pump.
5. Remove the old gasket and clean the mating surfaces.
6. Install the new water pump gasket and water pump.
7. Reinstall the water pump pulley.
8. Reinstall the accessory belt.
9. Refill the coolant system and check for leaks.
1998 SUBARU LEGACY 2.5L DOHC 4-CYLINDER ENGINE
1. Remove accessory belt.

3. Remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump.
4. Remove the old gasket and clean the mating surfaces.
5. Install the new water pump gasket and water pump.
6. Reinstall the water pump pulley and accessory belt.
7. Refill the coolant system and check for leaks.
