My 99 Kia Sportage cranks but no power getting to fuel pump all fuses and relays good. Jump it will run what could be the problem?

Here are some possible causes to the problem as to why your fuel pump is not receiving power:

1. Fuel Pump Relay: The fuel pump relay is responsible for supplying power to the fuel pump. Check the fuel pump relay and ensure it is functioning properly. Look for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections. If the relay is faulty, replace it with a new one.

2. Fuel Pump Fuse: The fuel pump fuse protects the fuel pump from electrical overloads. Check the fuse box to ensure the fuel pump fuse is intact and not blown. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage rating.

3. Fuel Pump Wiring: Inspect the wiring harness that connects to the fuel pump. Look for any damaged, frayed, or corroded wires. If any wires are damaged, repair or replace them as necessary.

4. Fuel Pump Connection: Check the connection between the fuel pump and the wiring harness to ensure it is secure and free from corrosion or damage. Clean and reconnect if needed.

5. Fuel Pump Controller: Some vehicles have a fuel pump controller that regulates the power supply to the fuel pump. Check the fuel pump controller (if equipped) for any signs of damage or malfunction.

6. PCM Issue: The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may not be sending a signal to turn on the fuel pump. This can be due to a faulty PCM or a problem with the wiring harness between the PCM and the fuel pump relay.

7. Crank Position Sensor: A faulty crank position sensor can prevent the PCM from sending a signal to turn on the fuel pump. Check the crank position sensor and ensure it is functioning properly.

Since the vehicle runs when jumped, it's likely that the problem is related to the electrical power supply to the fuel pump, rather than the pump itself. If you're not confident in troubleshooting electrical issues, it's best to consult a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repairs.
