1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the oil filter.
3. The oil filter is located on the front side of the engine, near the top. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with a black cap.
4. Place an oil pan or bucket under the oil filter to catch any dripping oil.
5. Use an oil filter wrench or a socket wrench with a filter cup to loosen the oil filter. Turn it counterclockwise until it is loose.
6. Remove the oil filter and discard it.
7. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This will help to ensure a proper seal and prevent leaks.
8. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter adapter until it is hand-tight.
9. Tighten the oil filter using an oil filter wrench or a socket wrench with a filter cup. Turn it clockwise until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter.
10. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
11. Lower the vehicle and start the engine. Let the engine run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil.
12. Check for any leaks around the oil filter. If there are any leaks, tighten the oil filter until the leak stops.
