1) Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2) Raise and support the rear of the vehicle with jack stands.
3) Remove the filler neck cover behind the license plate.
4) Disconnect the fuel line and return line from the tank.
5) Unclip and release the emergency fuel cut-off switch wire from the fuel tank bracket.
6) Move the fuel lines towards the transmission tunnel to allow clearance.
7) Place a drip pan under the tank.
8) Unbolt the tank mounting bolts and lower the tank.
Note: Be careful not to spill any gasoline while removing the tank.
