- This will prevent the car from starting while you are working on it.
2. Remove the front wheels.
- This will give you access to the steering rack.
3. Remove the tie rod ends.
- These are the two metal rods that connect the steering rack to the wheels.
4. Remove the bolts holding the steering rack in place.
- There are two bolts on either side of the steering rack.
5. Lower the steering rack.
- Be careful not to drop it.
6. Remove the power steering hoses.
- These are the two hoses that connect the power steering pump to the steering rack.
7. Remove the steering rack.
- You may need to use a pry bar to help you remove the steering rack.
8. Install the new steering rack.
- Reverse the steps you took to remove the old steering rack.
9. Connect the battery.
- Start the car and check for any leaks.
10. Take the car for a test drive.
- Make sure the steering is working properly.
