How do you change oil pump on 94 Honda civic?

Here is a general guide to changing the oil pump on a 1994 Honda Civic.

*Be aware, that doing this procedure may require special tools and lifting equipment and might be best left to a trusted mechanic unless you are confident in your ability to take on this task*

1. Gather necessary tools and materials.

- New oil pump

- Oil pump gasket

- Oil filter

- Engine oil

- Oil drain pan

- Funnel

- Socket set

- Wrench set

- Screwdriver

- Jack and jack stands

- Safety glasses

- Gloves

2. Park the car on a level surface, apply the parking brake and chock the wheels.

3. Jack up the car and secure it on jack stands.

4. Locate the oil drain plug and place the oil drain pan underneath.

5. Remove the oil drain plug using a wrench.

6. Allow all of the oil to drain out of the engine.

7. Replace the oil drain plug.

8. Remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.

9. Clean the oil filter mounting surface on the engine block.

10. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter and screw it onto the engine block.

11. Locate the oil pump.

- On the 1994 Honda Civic, the oil pump is located on the front of the engine block, below the distributor

12. Disconnect the oil lines from the oil pump.

13. Remove the bolts that hold the oil pump in place.

14. Remove the old oil pump from the engine block.

15. Clean the oil pump mounting surface on the engine block.

16. Apply a thin layer of silicone sealant to the gasket of the new oil pump.

17. Position the new oil pump on the engine block and secure it with the bolts.

18. Reconnect the oil lines to the oil pump.

19. Add new oil to the engine.

- Use the funnel to add oil through the oil fill cap

20. Check the oil level using the dipstick.

21. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

22. Check for leaks.

- If there are no leaks turn the engine off and add more oil if necessary.

23. Turn the engine off and lower the car from the jack stands.

24. Dispose of the old oil and filter responsibly.
