- 19mm socket
- 1/2-inch breaker bar
- 1/2-inch ratchet
- 3-inch extension
- Torque wrench
- Impact wrench (optional)
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to disable the ignition system.
2. Locate the crankshaft pulley bolt at the center of the engine crankshaft.
3. If accessing from underneath the vehicle, support the engine with a hydraulic jack and sturdy wooden block placed against the oil pan.
4. If accessible from the engine compartment, wedge a breaker bar between the ground and the engine block.
5. Securely attach the 19mm socket to the 1/2-inch breaker bar.
6. Position the breaker bar counter-clockwise to the crankshaft pulley bolt.
7. Press down firmly on the breaker bar until the bolt loosens. You may need to use the ratchet for extra leverage.
8. If the bolt doesn't budge with the breaker bar, use an impact wrench to break the initial resistance.
9. Once the bolt has loosened, completely unscrew it with the 19mm socket and wrench.
Remember, this process requires substantial torque, so use caution when applying force with the breaker bar or ratchet.
