Where is the thermostat in 1994 Mazda Protege?

1. Open the hood of your car.

2. Locate the upper radiator hose. It is the large hose that connects the top of the radiator to the engine.

3. Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. The thermostat housing will be located at the end of the hose, on the engine block.

4. The thermostat is located inside the thermostat housing. To remove the thermostat, you will need to remove the thermostat housing.

5. Once the thermostat housing is removed, you will be able to see the thermostat. It is a round, metal disk with a spring in the center.

6. To remove the thermostat, simply pull it out of the thermostat housing.

7. Be careful not to drop the thermostat. It is a small part, and it can be easy to lose.

8. Once the thermostat is removed, you can inspect it. If the thermostat is stuck open, it will not be able to regulate the engine temperature properly.

9. If the thermostat is stuck closed, it will cause the engine to overheat.

10. If the thermostat is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
