Where is the thermostat located on a 2000 Mazda 626?

2.0L and 2.5L engines:

1. Remove the air filter housing.

2. Remove the upper radiator hose.

3. Remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing to the engine block.

4. Lift the thermostat housing off the engine block.

5. Remove the thermostat from the housing.

3.0L engine:

1. Drain the coolant from the radiator.

2. Remove the upper radiator hose.

3. Remove the thermostat housing bolts.

4. Remove the thermostat housing.

5. Remove the thermostat gasket.

6. Clean the thermostat housing and the mating surface of the engine block.

7. Install a new thermostat gasket.

8. Install the thermostat.

9. Install the thermostat housing.

10. Install the upper radiator hose.

11. Fill the radiator with coolant.
