1. Park the truck in a safe location and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake to keep the truck from rolling.
2. Locate the speedometer cable. The speedometer cable is located near the transmission and connects the transmission to the speedometer gauge in the instrument cluster.
3. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the cable in place. Then, pull the cable out of the transmission.
4. Insert the new speedometer cable into the transmission. Make sure that the cable is fully inserted and that the bolt is tight.
5. Reconnected the speedometer cable to the speedometer gauge. Insert the cable into the slot on the back of the speedometer gauge and press until it snaps into place.
6. Test the speedometer. Start the engine and drive the truck around to make sure that the speedometer is working properly.
Here are some additional tips for installing a speedometer cable on a 1995 Isuzu truck:
- Use a new O-ring when you install the new speedometer cable. This will help to prevent leaks.
- Be careful not to overtighten the bolt that holds the speedometer cable in place. This could damage the cable.
- If you are having trouble installing the speedometer cable, consult a qualified mechanic.
