How do you fix a fuel pump on 1990 Isuzu trooper?

To replace the fuel pump on a 1990 Isuzu Trooper:

1. Gather the necessary tools and parts. You will need a new fuel pump, a fuel pump strainer, a fuel line disconnect tool, a flat head screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, and a wrench.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Remove the fuel tank cap and relieve pressure in the fuel system by pressing on the Schrader valve on the fuel injector rail.

4. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump. Use the fuel line disconnect tool to release the fuel lines from the fuel pump.

5. Remove the fuel pump mounting bolts.

6. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.

7. Remove the fuel pump strainer from the fuel pump.

8. Inspect the fuel pump for any damage or debris. If the fuel pump is damaged or dirty, replace it with a new one.

9. Install the new fuel pump strainer onto the new fuel pump.

10. Insert the new fuel pump into the fuel tank and secure it with the mounting bolts removed earlier.

11. Reconnect the fuel lines to the fuel pump. Make sure to push the fuel lines all the way onto the fuel pump nipples until they click into place.

11. Reconnect the battery.
