To replace a camshaft sensor, you will need to remove the following:
1. The air intake duct.
2. The upper timing chain cover.
3. The camshaft sensor bolts.
4. The camshaft sensor.
Once you have removed the old camshaft sensor, you can install the new sensor by following the steps in reverse order. Be sure to torque the camshaft sensor bolts to the specified specifications.
The camshaft sensors are responsible for providing the ECM with information about the position of the camshafts. This information is used by the ECM to control the timing of the fuel injection and ignition systems. If a camshaft sensor fails, it can cause the engine to run poorly or even stall.
