* A new speed sensor
* A socket wrench set
* A flathead screwdriver
* A rag
NOTE: This procedure will require you to disconnect the battery. Make sure you have all of your radio codes and other electrical equipment ready before disconnecting the battery.
Removal instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands.
3. Remove the rear wheels.
4. Remove the brake drums.
5. Locate the speed sensor. It is located on the top of the rear axle, near the wheel flange.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
7. Remove the bolt that holds the speed sensor in place.
8. Pull the speed sensor out of the axle.
Installation instructions:
1. Insert the new speed sensor into the axle.
2. Install the bolt that holds the speed sensor in place.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the speed sensor.
4. Install the brake drums.
5. Install the rear wheels.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Reconnect the battery.
