1. Locate the clutch adjustment bolt on the driver's side of the transmission. It is located near the top of the transmission, just below the master cylinder.
2. Loosen the 10mm locknut on the clutch adjustment bolt.
3. Turn the 12mm clutch adjustment bolt clockwise to tighten the clutch pedal, or counterclockwise to loosen the clutch pedal.
4. While holding the clutch pedal down, tighten the 10mm locknut on the clutch adjustment bolt.
5. Test the clutch pedal by pressing it down. It should have about 1 inch of free play at the top of the pedal.
6. If necessary, repeat steps 3-5 until the clutch pedal is adjusted correctly.
7. Put the tools away and you're done!
Tips:
- Make sure the car is in neutral before adjusting the clutch.
- Do not over-tighten the clutch adjustment bolt, as this can damage the clutch components.
- If the clutch is slipping, you may need to replace the clutch disc or pressure plate.
- If you have any doubts about how to adjust the clutch, consult a qualified mechanic.
