What is a windshield heat element?
A windshield heat element is a heating device that is embedded within a windshield to remove frost, ice, and condensation from the windshield. It consists of a network of thin, electrically conductive wires that are sandwiched between two layers of glass. When an electric current is applied to the wires, they heat up and radiate heat, melting any frost or ice that has accumulated on the windshield. Windshield heat elements can be turned on and off as needed, and are typically controlled by a switch on the vehicle's dashboard. Some newer vehicles also have automatic windshield heat elements that turn on and off as needed based on the temperature and weather conditions.
