1. Disconnect the negative terminal the vehicle battery.
2. Remove the distributor cap.
3. Locate the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley.
4. Make a mark on the distributor housing in line with the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley.
5. Remove the distributor hold down clamp.
6. Install the timing light and use it to align the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley with the mark you made on the distributor housing.
7. Tighten the distributor hold down clamp.
8. Start the engine and recheck timing as needed.
9. Reconnect the negative terminal to the vehicle battery.
