How many wires does a fuel pump have?

Typically, an electric fuel pump has three wires:

1. Power: This wire provides the electrical power to the fuel pump motor. It is usually connected to the vehicle's battery or ignition system.

2. Ground: This wire provides the electrical ground for the fuel pump motor. It is usually connected to the vehicle's chassis or engine block.

3. Signal: This wire sends a signal to the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) indicating that the fuel pump is operating properly. It is usually connected to the ECU's fuel pump control module.

Some fuel pumps may have additional wires for features such as a fuel level sensor or a pressure sensor.
