How do you get the rear brake drum off a 2005 Toyota Tundra?

To remove a rear brake drum from a 2005 Toyota Tundra, follow these steps:

Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

1. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that covers the brake drum, but don't remove them completely.

2. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and place a jack stand under the frame for safety.

3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

4. Locate the two brake drum hold-down screws on the back of the brake drum.

5. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove the hold-down screws.

6. Gently pull the brake drum off of the hub.

7. If the drum is stuck, use a pry bar or hammer to gently tap the drum until it breaks loose.

8. Once the brake drum is removed, you will be able to access the brake shoes and other brake components.

9. Reassemble the brake components in reverse order when finished.

Note: Make sure to properly torque the lug nuts when you reinstall the wheel. The recommended torque specification for the lug nuts on a 2005 Toyota Tundra is 108 foot-pounds (146 Nm).
