1. Locate the water separator. It is located on the driver's side of the engine, near the fuel filter. It will have a black plastic knob on the bottom.
2. Place a drain pan under the water separator. Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the fuel that will come out.
3. Turn the knob on the bottom of the water separator counterclockwise. This will open the valve and allow the fuel to drain out.
4. Let the fuel drain out until it stops. This may take a few minutes.
5. Close the valve on the bottom of the water separator. Turn the knob clockwise until it is tight.
6. Reinstall the drain pan.
Tips:
* Be careful not to get any fuel on your skin or eyes. Fuel can irritate the skin and eyes.
* If you do get fuel on your skin or eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.
* If you have any questions about draining the water separator, consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a qualified mechanic.
Note: Draining the water separator is a simple task that can be performed in just a few minutes. By doing this, you can help prevent your engine from running rough or stalling.
