Remove the fuel tank. To do this, first remove the two bolts holding the tank in place on the front and rear of the tank. Then, remove the fuel line by pinching the fuel line clamp and pulling the fuel line off of the fuel tank. Finally, lift the fuel tank up and off of the motorcycle.
Remove the cylinder head cover. To do this, first remove the four bolts holding the cover in place. Then, lift the cover off of the motorcycle.
Find the spark plug. It is located in the center of the cylinder head.
Remove the old spark plug. Use the spark plug wrench to loosen and remove the spark plug.
Gap the new spark plug. The spark plug gap should be 0.028 inches. Use the gapping tool to adjust the gap if necessary.
Screw the new spark plug into the cylinder head. Hand-tighten the spark plug until it is snug. Then, use the spark plug socket to tighten the plug an additional 1/4 turn.
Replace the cylinder head cover. Place the cover on the motorcycle and replace the four bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.
Replace the fuel tank. Lower the fuel tank onto the motorcycle and replace the two bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.
