1. Remove the spark plug wire and the valve cover.
2. Inspect the valve clearance. The clearance between the valve and the rocker arm should be between .004 inches and .006 inches.
3. If necessary, adjust the valve clearance by loosening the locknut on the rocker arm and turning the adjusting screw until the clearance is correct.
4. Tighten the locknut.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the other valve.
6. Replace the valve cover and the spark plug wire.
