Instructions
1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Locate the fuel filter housing. On a 1997 Infiniti J30, the fuel filter is located under the car, on the passenger side near the front of the vehicle.
4. Chock the wheels
5. Raise and support your car with a jack or car ramps.
6. Remove the fuel line bracket with a screwdriver and disconnect the hoses
7. Remove the fuel filter mounting bracket bolt with a wrench and remove the bracket
8. Remove the old fuel filter from the bracket
9. Insert the new fuel filter into the bracket and secure with the mounting bracket bolt
10. Reconnect the fuel hoses and secure the fuel line bracket
11. Lower your car and remove the jack or car ramps
12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
Tips:
- Be sure to use the correct fuel filter for your vehicle.
- Reinstall the fuel line bracket and bolt
- If the fuel filter housing seems to be rusted or damaged, replace the entire housing, instead of just replacing the filter
