* A flat-blade screwdriver
* A feeler gauge
* A torque wrench
* A 10 mm socket
* A 12 mm socket
* A ratchet
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the camshaft cover.
3. Rotate the engine to the top-dead-center (TDC) position.
4. Loosen the camshaft chain tensioner bolt and remove the chain.
5. Remove the camshaft sprocket.
6. Measure the camshaft timing. The factory specification for the camshaft timing is 24° ± 1°. If your measurement is out of spec, you will need to adjust the timing by rotating the camshaft in or out of the engine.
7. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the camshaft lobes and bearings.
8. Reinstall the camshaft sprocket.
9. Tighten the camshaft chain tensioner bolt to 10 Nm.
10. Reinstall the camshaft cover.
11. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
12. Start the engine and check for proper camshaft timing.
