Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Raise and secure your vehicle with jack stands.
3. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan.
4. Place the oil drain pan underneath the oil drain plug and loosen the plug with a 17mm wrench.
5. Allow the oil to drain completely into the drain pan.
6. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
7. Remove the 10mm bolts that secure the oil pan to the engine block.
8. Carefully pry the oil pan loose from the engine block using the pry bar. Be careful not to damage the oil pan or the engine block.
9. Clean the mating surfaces of the oil pan and the engine block with a degreaser and a rag.
10. Apply a thin bead of oil pan gasket RTV to the mating surface of the oil pan.
11. Position the new oil pan gasket on the mating surface of the oil pan and press it into place.
12. Install the 10mm bolts that secure the oil pan to the engine block and tighten them securely.
13. Replace the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
14. Lower your vehicle from the jack stands.
15. Add new oil to the engine according to the owner's manual.
16. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks from the oil pan gasket.
Tips:
- Be careful not to overtighten the oil pan bolts, as this can damage the oil pan or the engine block.
- If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, you can have it done by a qualified mechanic.
