The PCV valve on a 4 cylinder Malibu can be found in the upper corner of the valve cover on the passenger side of the engine. It is a small, black plastic valve with a hose connected to it.

Instructions
1. Open the hood of your car.
2. Locate the PCV valve on the passenger side of the engine.
3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the PCV valve counterclockwise until it is loose.
4. Remove the PCV valve from the engine.
5. Inspect the old PCV valve and replace it if it is damaged or clogged.
6. Install the new PCV valve into the engine.
7. Tighten the PCV valve clockwise until it is snug.
8. Replace the cap on your car's oil filler tube.
9. Close the hood of your car.
Tips
- If you are unable to remove the old PCV valve, you may need to use a pair of pliers to grip it.
- Be careful not to drop the PCV valve into the engine when you are removing it.
- Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the threads of the new PCV valve before installing it to make sure it seals.
- Replace the PVC valve every 30,000 miles or 2 years.
