3.0 v6 1990 Dodge Daytona how to adjust camshafts for timing engine?

To adjust the camshafts for timing on a 1990 Dodge Daytona with a 3.0L V6 engine, you will need the following tools:

- 3/8-inch drive ratchet and socket set

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Pliers

- Cam timing tool kit (available from auto parts stores)

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical accidents.

2. Remove the valve covers.

3. Locate the camshaft sprockets. They are located at the front of the engine, one on each cylinder head.

4. Use the flat-head screwdriver to loosen the bolts holding the camshaft sprockets in place.

5. Use the pliers to gently pry the camshaft sprockets off the camshafts.

6. Install the cam timing tool kit onto the camshafts. This tool will help you to align the camshafts correctly for timing.

7. Turn the crankshaft pulley until the piston in cylinder #1 is at top dead center (TDC). You can do this by inserting a screwdriver into the spark plug hole in cylinder #1 and watching for it to reach its highest point.

8. Once the piston is at TDC, align the marks on the camshaft sprockets with the marks on the cam timing tool.

9. Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts to the specified torque.

10. Remove the cam timing tool kit.

11. Replace the valve covers.

12. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Your camshafts are now adjusted for timing correctly.
