1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the distributor cap.
3. Remove the rotor.
4. Pull the sensor straight out of the distributor housing.
1982-1984 S-10 2.8L V6 TBI-equipped Engines:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
3. Locate the crankshaft position sensor on the rear of the engine near the oil filter.
4. Remove the two bolts that hold the sensor in place.
5. Carefully pull the sensor out of the engine block.
1992-1993 4.3L V6 TBI-equipped Engines:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Locate the crankshaft position sensor mounted on the front of the engine near the oil filter.
3. Remove the two bolts that hold the sensor in place.
4. Carefully pull the sensor out of the engine block.
